ED2: to quote someone I'm not going to name because they didn't name me,
The reason I have your icon, or your old icon, or maybe you don't see anything, is that it's pulling out of Livejournal's cached "scratch space"

Basically, if you upload a pic that's too big, it puts it in a scratch space, loads it into the editor, lets you modify it, and lets you save the result in a pic slot.

However, it doesn't *delete* that scratch image. And the image is still there, stored in your account, weeks or months later.

Meaning that this thing pulls out *the last picture you edited using livejournal's picture editor*.

I see this pic: I use it on intranet stuff at work for my creative writing subjects and actually forgot it was a user pic.

You don't want to know how long it took to realise what I was supposed to be reporting on.

How you do that? (I am not smart enough to know what LJ Hole means :-( )
